Objectives

In this case we worked alongside Birmingham City University to produce a report into the Tech and Digital sector within the WMCA. The aim of the project was to inform the strategy, market positioning and tactics of the West Midlands Growth Company and Birmingham City University as it seeks to attract investment and support business growth in the WMCA area as well as raise the profile of the Regional Observatory and co-authors and sponsors as sector experts, widening and deepening their engagement with sector businesses and to inform the strategic thinking of the WMCA and other key stakeholders.

Deliverables

To this end an indepth report, summary, infographics, a presentation and question and answer session was hosted at the Universities innovation fest. This project was also supported by PR, Comms and Marketing activity provided by the West Midlands Growth Company.

The project was sponsored and co authored by Birmingham City University (BCU), which has particular strengths in in ICT and digital technology research as well as teaching and close ties to the industry. The report also highlighted BCU’s knowledge and expertise of the area. 
Outcome


A 28 page report was produced that highlighted the WMCA and BCU as at the forefront of Tech and digital. West Midlands Growth company achieved sponsorship income from BCU in light of the report that was produced.
