Tom's business life has been spent building up Westley Group Ltd, a group of foundry businesses specialising in copper based and aluminium alloy casting production. Westley Group has become one of Europe's leading foundry groups focussing on bespoke cast parts for the marine, oil, power generation, steel production and architectural industries. The vast majority of production is exported all over the world.

Tom is also chairman of Westley Plastics Ltd, a company specialising in the production of nylon castings for special applications, one of the largest uses being into tyre support inserts for military and security vehicles, which are sold and distributed around the world (90 per cent exported) by Runflat International Ltd, a company half owned by Westley Plastics Ltd.
