Our people

In line with Government guidance, the West Midlands Growth Company team is working  from home and we have temporarily shut our office. The team are contactable on their normal phone numbers and email addresses. As meetings and events are cancelled, we are looking at other ways to operate, with a focus on webinars, video conferencing and phone calls.

Promoting the region

It is important that we continue to promote the region and establish the West Midlands story, with the opportunities presented as the UK’s first multi-city 5G test bed, Coventry as the 2021 City of Culture and the region hosting the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. We will stay in close contact with our partners and would welcome ideas on how we can work together on this.

We are mindful of how the coronavirus outbreak is affecting global trade and the impact it could have on investment decisions. We are responding to this through providing alternative methods of engaging with our investment clients to ensure we maintain high quality support during this difficult time. 

Our tourism strategy focuses on highlighting the sector’s remote services and products where possible, as well as providing inspiration to visitors for future visits. We will continue to offer advice in line with the Government position and look at ways to reach out to key audiences, such as participating in virtual exhibitions. We are also looking at how we can promote the region as a great destination for a UK break, when appropriate, later this year.

The Government has asked all of us to stop unnecessary travel and non-essential contact. We are looking at how we can support our partners during this time - please get in touch with the team to talk through the impacts on your business and ways we can help.
